A river synonymous with dry fly fishing, Ribnik is undoubtedly one of the most renowned rivers in the world for angling. It’s a river where dry fly fishing is possible year-round. Abundant in Grayling and Brown Trout, it flows gently throughout its course, easily wadable with several beautiful pools teeming with trophy trout and grayling. Located in northwest Bosnia and Herzegovina, the tourist complex along its banks serves as an excellent base for 4-7 days of fishing on Ribnik and Sana, whose confluence is about 1 km away from the complex, providing easy access to both rivers within minutes. Other nearby rivers, mostly within 50 to 100 km from the accommodation, include Sanica, Pliva, Janj, Unac, and Una. The fishing season lasts year-round, with the best months being in spring and early summer, as well as late summer and early autumn. For tours, especially in May and June, early reservations are recommended due to limited accommodation units. Catch and release (C&R) are practiced throughout the river’s length, which stretches over 5 km, allowing fishing with one fly without a barbed hook. Inhabited by 100% native fish species.
